# App icon artwork — attribution

The 13 icons in this directory (`*.png`, 128 px) are **not** OpenCraftApps artwork.
Each one is the upstream project's own application icon, downloaded from that
project's repository by `scripts/fetch-app-icons.mjs`:

```
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/storytold/<app>/main/assets/app-icon/<app>-small.svg
fallback: assets/app-icon/<app>.svg, then assets/app-icon/hicolor/256x256/apps/ai.storyteller.<app>.png
```

Per the upstream `assets/app-icon/LICENSE.txt` (checked 2026-10-19): the icon artwork is
original work made for the project by the project owner, with no third-party material,
licensed under **MIT or Apache-2.0 at the option of the recipient** — the same dual licence
as the code. Copyright and trademark rights in each icon, and in the creature/monogram design
it depicts, remain with the upstream project.

Two icons are still upstream **placeholders**, not the final engraved portraits:

- `wordcraft.svg` — "WordCraft placeholder icon (original; MIT OR Apache-2.0). To be replaced by the mascot drawing."
- `gridcraft.svg` — "GridCraft PLACEHOLDER icon … temporary until the owner's engraved creature portrait replaces it"

They are shipped as-is because that is what the current releases actually use. Re-run
`node scripts/fetch-app-icons.mjs` to pick up replacements.

OpenCraftApps uses these icons solely to identify the applications it indexes. OpenCraftApps
is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the upstream project — see `/disclaimer/`.
